From the Official Site I WANT TO REPAY THE FANS - IAIN Posted on: Mon 05 Jan 2009 STRIKER Iain Hume wants to repay the tremendous support he has received from the Barnsley faithful. Speaking exclusively to the Oakwell Review ahead of this weekend's game with Southampton, Iain said: "The support my family and I have received has been absolutely unbelievable. "I have received things from Tranmere and Leicester City fans but nothing like the support and good wishes that have come from Barnsley. "The Club sent everything over and I cannot thank them enough even though I have only been here a short time and I believe I have not really done anything to earn that kind of backing and support. I have done nothing yet at Barnsley and I want to repay that support. "I have to get back to the level I was at and even higher for the fans. Just getting back playing this season will be a big boost and show a lot of people who said I would never do it. I want to do that and a lot more for the Barnsley fans who have given me such tremendous support and I will do whatever I can to repay them. "My family have really appreciated everything and now it is just a matter of getting back training, getting back playing and making things normal again. I do not expect to get back into the team and I know that I will have to earn my shirt again. If and when I get that chance it is up to me to play well and keep it. That is what getting back to normal will mean to me". Read more from Iain in an exclusive three-page interview in this weekend's Oakwell Review.
RE: From the Official Site Good to hear from Humey. However, do people realistically think he will be able to play again after such a bad injury.
i doubt it. Would you really want to stick your head in after that? I dont doubt his bravery but its only natural not to want to dive full bloodied onto the end of crosses or go up for high balls after a near fatal accident.
To be honest i think he will surprise us. I think the "love" from Barnsley will make him more determined, and in turn will get stuck in like never before WHEN he does return to training, and the 1st time he gets on the training pitch cos lets face it the 1st couple of months will be about getting fit, the 1st thing the coaches need to do is to make him go up for a header. I know it sounds bad but it's like the falling off the bike thing
