If Preston sacked Paul Simpson and approached Barnsley for S.D would you consider letting him go.I'll start with a resounding no.

Id tell em to **** off, a new manager now would be a disaster. Tues night actually looked like the start of something decent, a new manager would make the settling in period for all thease new players even worse.

No,he as to finish the job here. But you know our fickle fans three defeats on the bounce and the rope is around Davey's neck. :)

Is that fans or senior management?

Its nothing to do with fans whether the manager gets the boot.

Your right, but if results are poor and we are not progressing then the fans become more impatient. This worry goes through the club like a plague. The Directors get panicky, the fans get more hostile and the only solution is to sack the manager. Isn't that what we have been doing over the last 10 years. :)

In my opinion, if SD doesn't stay as manager one way or another until the end of the season

I will be one very disappointed and annoyed ST holder....

This is the time that the board stick to there manager and

    a) give him actual time that we no longer seem to give (I am sure this one will happen)
    b) fend of any approaches for as long as we are able to

as this one I am confident will go a very long way!

Don't Think We Could Stop Him Leaving

He would have the chance to go back to a club more dear to his heart and who are a more established championship side in many ways. Him going back there would be horrible for us, but I just couldn't see him wanting to stay.

No way. He has a contract with us and he should be made to see it through, or at least til we dont want him anymore. :D

No way would I let him go.

He worked a near miracle last season to keep us up with a squad, who with one or too exceptions, are now playing their football in League 1 and 2.

On this seasons form and points per game tally we will end up with around 61 points and this team looks as if it can only get better as the players get use to each other.

Im probably in the minority here but yes

Didnt want him here and still dont want him. Im yet to be convinced. I havent watched hardly any matches under Davey that i have enjoyed. Might just be me but i like to be entertained and for the last 9 months that hasnt been happening under this guy.
For me his tactics are iffy he chops and changes the team formation too much, the players arent always played to their strengths and we are stunting the local lads coming through by signing so many players over the summer.
Hope he manages to change my mind but at the present time i really couldnt care if he left tommorow.

Hard to see them offering it to him

He hasnt done anything yet ro really attract any attention.
As to the hypothetical question I am a bit undecided - He has started a job so should at least carry on and see if it works, but so far his football in general hasnt been the most entertaining. On balance I'd probably give him a bit longer but wouldnt be gutted if he went

I am with you , however agin Stoke we actually looked like we wanted to play footy.

Its the first time I have seen us trying to play under Davey. We were passing and moving and doing all the basic stuff I saw us play at the beginning of last season.

We just need to work on the final ball and getting into positions where we can get a shot at goal.

Some of the defending is still a bit frantic , but players were putting anything in the way of the shots that were coming in towards the end.

If we keep on trying to play footy then I am more than happy , but if we slip back into the ***** that we served up last season then I will be the first to complain.

Get along to the Cardiff game as all being well you might be surprised by what you see. (admittedley a tonking by Southampton might change the mindset but I would hope not)

    See MacCarthy`s post

Same here, if he goes he goes , if he stays I hope he sticks to the attacking philosophy, if he goes all defensive then, he should go now.
I hope to be watching an attacking, enjoyable game of football, under Davey or not.

    RE: See MacCarthy`s post

What if we are winning at home and picking up points on the road? Would you take unimaginative football if it was putting us up in the top 6?

Personally I think we will have a pretty decent season, only 6 games in, players gelling, and all that. Its a cliche but it is also true. The players he has brought in have all looked like decent players and will make a good team. Especially if we can keep Anderson, he has got better as the weeks have gone on and looks like a player.
