If a club was trying to cut costs and decided not to turn its under soil heating to save money then i reckon that game might get called off. Itd be a disgrace if that happened wouldnt it. I bet the club would deny it tho and pretend it was just too cold or summat.
What changed between first light (7 a.m.?) and the time of postponement? We had a bright sunny morning, and it can't have got any worse, yet we don't call off until nearly 1 p.m.? If I were a Brum fan and I'd travelled, I'd not be best pleased.
So what about Ipswich game, called off after 37 mins. The game was called off by the ref....get over it!
Hold on a minute.....I recall a previous game that was called off at 10am and folk were moaning saying that because the sun moves round the pitch would have been playable a few hours later. i can guarantee that had they called off the game earlier there'd have been as many folk moaning saying they should have waited. The club can't win....well, i say the club - it's the ref that calls it off, not the club.
What is the relevance of you mentioning the ipswich game? How is that relevant to when or if our undersoil heating was turned on?
Because they had a game abandoned after 37 mins due to a frozen pitch, the reason ours was postponed, would folk rather the game got started?
I think you're completely missing the point of peoples issues EastStander. I haven't seen a single person say 'that pitch was playable' or 'the game should have gone ahead'. What I've seen is people complaining about not being kept informed and complaining that something has gone woefully wrong with our preperation for the adverse weather conditions considering we have undersoil heating. Yes Ipswich was called off for a frozen pitch but that has NOTHING to do with the way BFC have handled the cold weather.
