And he knew what he was facing when he came etc etc (I thought he came for the challenge of outperforming these other richer clubs). However, I think this week it's a further reaction to desperately trying to get a loan striker in and not being able to. I think the formation today was a protest at the board about not being able to sign any of his targets.
he keeps droning on and on because some people don't let it sink in, some people are too think to see what's going on.
EVERYONE knows we have no money, everyone was told before Hill came, when he was appointed it was because he didnt need any money and he said so himself, he tells us every week we have no money, I think Hill himself thought the board were lying when they told HIM we had no money !!!
Do you honestly think he would throw away a game of football in protest to the board? He played Etuhu and Done up front because he thought pace up front was the answer. Granted it didn't work but to suggest he picked a formation as a statement against the board is ridiculous.
The point I was making that he clearly doesn't rate his other strikers else he'd have started them. ie, please let me sign someone else. Far from ridiculous.
Not even Keith Hill would put his ego before the team or jeopardise the result. I don't think he could see Marlon getting much change out of their three centre halves. By the sounds of it he opted to try to get in behind their fullbacks with pace and width, while countering their 5 man midfield. The substitutions appeared to add a bit of energy but it doesn't sound like Hull were giving much away today.
Why does he pick Wiseman every week still then, even when McNulty and Cranie are available. PS - Cranie is a centre back.
I can't answer that. Do you think his perseverance with Wiseman is down to ego? Jim Mac is only just back for selection and it would appear Hill has other plans for Cranie. John Stones is reputedly a centre-half as well and it's arguable he has been at fault for more goals then Wiseman.
It's not just about who's at fault for goals though. Wiseman did make one brilliant last ditch tackle today, but he's poor in the air and also got caught in possession a couple of times today, resulting in chances for Hull. Centre backs should not be trying to run out of defence and beat men. Unless they're incredibly good at it. It seems Hill wants his centre backs to be ball players, yet McNulty sits on the bench and Cranie plays in midfield. Both could play that way. McNulty's been back on the bench for weeks now, surely must be fit.
I have to agree however all our strikers except Rose were signed by Hill and they are letting him down badly. Harewood is a complete waste of snap, Daggers is struggling to score and Rose is nowhere near competing at this level IMO. We desperately need Davies back and another option up top.
The guy is out of his depth. He signed Harewood, Done and Dagnall and Mido, who many people said would not kick a ball all season due to his condition. Why is he looking for a loan signing when the majority of his signings are available. One answer... He has made a right mess of things again in the transfer market. Face up to the fact, he's not good enough.
its to be hoped that mido comes up with the goods when he does play, because a club that hasnt got any money cant afford to pay somebody just to loose weight.
Rather unfair. He only signed these type of players as he has to gamble on nearly every signing as he cannot splash cash willy nilly, as we all know! He also brought in Cranie, Golbourne, Mellis and Cwyka, who all look good players. Not to mention Vaz Te and Drinkwater last season. Good strikers are the hardest players to find for free, or even on loan as Keith has found this week.
Harewood undoubtedly has been a disappointment,I thought he was a good signing,Dagnall is a good player,I've had to change my mind on that one,but whether he will score goals ....? Done did pretty well for us last year but since the injury his couple of games have been anonymous, and Mido well lets see...at Rotherham he looked a really good player out (seriously) of condition...but don't forget the majority of posters on here thought Vaz Te was crap after his first few games
