Such and important game for both clubs. We don't want them running on the pitch etc. at the end if they secure promotion. I don't want it to be a late kick off so it can be on Sky. Might cost us money, but it is more 'drinking time' for everyone, and some people can be more bell-endish if they've had a few. I agree with the decision to make it all ticket. Away end sold out so might tempt Hull fans to come in the home end. I don't want that. I don't think we should give them the West Stand. Reason for this is purely football and nothing to do with safety. If they got the extra seats and bring more people, then the atmosphere will be even more on their side. We don't want a situation where there are almost as many away fans as home fans. IMO, like.
Agree 100%. Pity the board don't see it that way. 3pts is more valuable than the extra few grand, l think our board would have it at their ground and split the profits if they had the chance.
With it being the last home game of the season, no matter what the result, a selection of mindless home fans will invade the pitch. As you say, the Hull fans may do the same. In fact, they could do so whatever the result if they perceive the home fans' invasion to be a threat. With such a short fuse, it is little wonder that the police do not want to take the risk.
Glad at least someone agrees. Yes we'll miss out on a bit of money. Id rather that than have 6/7/8,000 Hull fans in our ground.
I don't disagree as such. It's the inconsistencies of how SY Police view Security/potential major problems thats gets me. I posted in an earlier thread about the debacle following our game at Hillsboro, where hoardes of home and away fans intermingle on Leppings lane and hardly a Police officer in sight.
I thought that was shocking, and said so to my dad. Both sets of fans mingeling straight away and made to get on the same tram? No way is that right. To honest though it's from a selfish view of me being a BFC fan. If it was the other way round i'd be pissed off that more of our fans couldnt go.
get ready for hull fans in our end........just my thoughts......only a hour away and selling till 11am on matchday.
Thing is, if it was in hull we'd get boxed into the stand and frog marched out as far away from the pitch as possible at full time while tigger and his chums jump about on the grass. You'd not get close as an away fan to getting on the pitch. Meanwhile at oakwell....
