And it seems like we're not willing to. Could be very costly if we don't bring one in when every other team seems to be acting. Coventry are apparently in for Eastwood and trying to get him before the deadline. We need to at least make an effort to act - maybe we are and we're keeping it quiet - but we need a striker with a record of actually hitting the net. If we don't, the worry and threat of relegation might just become a lot more real.
Think midfield is more important Too many holes in at the moment, and that was exploited in the second half of the SU game.
Lack of goals is a much bigger problem .............. .......... than 'holes' in midfield, if he played Togwell it would tighten things up considerably ......... we are desperate for a goalscorer because, Macken apart, the rest of our forwards simply aren't good enough for this division
The club has tended to keep intentions quiet and only make any announcements once the deals have been done If Davey is after any players - and I suspect he is trying to bring in either a striker or midfield replacement for Da Silva we wont know anything about it until he succeeds ie late today or tomorrow
We don't even create any chances though And a loan striker at this stage of the season is unlikely to change that. Our midfield is woeful, simple as. When we had De Silva we had a player who could break up the play, and therefore start our own attacks. We haven't got anyone to do that now.
We usually create 2 or 3 chances every match for odejayi ...... ........ but he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo ......... except v Chelsea!
RE: We usually create 2 or 3 chances every match for odejayi ...... He usually creates his own chances to miss. Our other players wouldnt get those chances. I agree the midfield dont give early and good balls they wait untill it is too late and the player is then either marked or offside.
No he doesn't ...... ....... the balls played into him, he takes at least two touches too many, shoots and misses ........... oh and he scoops the odd one over the bar from 3 yards when it's harder to miss - Palace away first half
RE: No he doesn't ...... wasnt there, but its better to get the chances and miss than not get involved. Taking his chances will come but its much harder to coach someone to get into goal scoring positions. Dont get me wrong i am not saying he is a world beater but there is still hope as far as i am concerned. I cant say that for Nards.
I'm sorry, I don't go along with this ................ .......... 'keep getting in the right place and the goals will come', they won't, there is a nack to putting the ball in the net, some have the nack, others will never have it. I doubt Odejayi will ever reach 5 goals for BFC. I don't think Nads is the answer, he is a split personalilty, when he's on form and interested, he's a top player, when he's fed up and not interested he's a lazy **** but, having said that, Nads has scored goals that Odejayi will never, ever score and can only dream about. Bottom line is, Macken apart, none of our forwards are good enough. Doubt he would have come, but, if for example we had signed Jamie Cureton at the start of the season, we would be in the top ten now, that's the difference between having a quality striker or having what we have got.
