A few years ago we gave a chance to an untried manager namely Danny Forked Tongue Wilson. He did a tremendous job and took us into the land of dreams. Then he failed but we stood by him and gave him another chance which he accepted and pledged to stay. But he lied. In the fourteen years or so since then in my mind he has done nothing of note (except to get our friends down the road into a lot of debt). He has been sacked a number of times so this must also be the opinion of a number of chairmen. So now I think it is time to give someone else that chance and maybe he will be successful. My idea of success may not necessarily be keeping us in this division, but must see a dramatic improvement with the players at his disposal. This may be seen as the cheap option by some but unfortunately we are shopping at Poundland for both managers and players. Come on you reds.
I'm in the 'It's Mellons job to lose' camp. I wouldn't have an issue with Danny coming back if Mellon doesn't get it but for me MM is in the driving seat at this stage.
for me, if mickey turns the performances round on the pitch, and gets some points on the table, i'll be moderately happy. but i won't be buying into the 'different new, different ideas' thing just yet. not after flicker. for the record, i personally wouldn't have gone with mickey, and i wouldn't have kept him on as caretaker. would have been a clean sweep. but we are where we are, so i'd like him to do well.
Biggest myth ever that Danny has done nowt since he left us. Let's give job to Mellon then. Another bloke from League Two. That will sort it
Spoke to a Blades fan last night, he said that in Wilson's first season they did play some really great football, but in the second season, after losing most of the 'relegated' team they played awful football. Make of that what you will.
