    no need to apologise

when they do not play to the expected level you have every right to complain and criticise. But when they do perform then they deserve the praise too. They should know that its all part of their trade, and should expect the rough an the smooth, as anyone in the business of entertainment should.

Obviously football is different to anything else

Start a new job with a new group of people none of who know each other and if you arent world class on day one you are clearly rubbish.

Luckily by day 3 some are finding their feet a bit

    I did not say that

I meant that in the field of entertainment the entertainer should expect the two ends of the spectrum, Fierce criticism and lavish praise. Rare is there middle ground. I feel that they should have a strong back, broad shoulders and thick skin. it sorta goes with the turf IMHO, and especially so in football. The term Zero to hero and Vice versa is a very obvious cliche in this field.

I do that all the time

New starter, doesn't know where anything is or what to do - slag 'em off completely, what do they mean they don't know where the canteen is? They should do, bloody useless!
