    just a thought

    say he was offered £X per year for 2 years and he said</p>

    how about £1.5X and they said no £X is all we can afford</p>

    so he said OK I'll take £1.5X for a year (saving club £0.5X-so long as he leaves at the end of the season!)</p>

    would have thought 2 year deals on offer with

    a clause to reduce the wage in the event of relegation, i believe that was done when we got promoted to the premier

    And the funniest thing about it all...

    Is the official site states 'he has committed his long-term future with the club by agreeing a 1-year contract'.

    Now, is it me, but would anyone else say that a 1-year contract isn't a long term commitment?
