As it now seems to have improved and sounds like everywhere's clear.

Fair enough better today than tomorrow morning but with no more snow forecast it seems odd.

To think of the weather some other games have gone ahead under at Oakwell in recent years.

    Blame the claim culture.

Personally I think the club should be able to say come and watch the game 'at your own risk' so then if anyone thinks it's 'too dangerous' they can stop at home.

    Grrrr.

    It's an appalling decision ............

........ I could understand the pigs match being off for the surrounding areas being icy etc, 7 hours before the match with more snow and freezing temperatures forecast.

But to call the Palace match off 27 hours before kick off (with time to do something about the streets around the ground) in bright sunshine and no further snow forecast, and the pitch in good condition and two games to re-arrange already, absolutely bizarre decision.

I'd love to know who has really made the decision and how much influence the club(s) have over it because I bet the game could easily have gone ahead tomorrow without any problems for the spectators whatsoever

They shouldn't need to say anything. They shouldn't have to worry about lawsuits from fans travelling to a game. It should be game on and everybody takes responsibility for their own safety in getting there. Set off early, take it easy. I could understand it if conditions were as bad as a day or 2 ago but it is clearing up. I will probably now be going somewhere with our lass and kids, yes, going somewhere in the car! If any of us have an accident I might try and sue the venue we go to for not shutting. Absolutely cr@p decision this early. They should have had an inspection in the morning.

Not such a bad thing is it?

It gives Colace and possibly Bogdanovic a bit more time to be fit; it also gives the new players more time todevelop an understandingwith their colleagues; and itmeans Crystal Palace may have to come up here on a weekday, which they probably won't fancy.

    Get used to the idea

what should happen (nobody sues) and what could happen (somebody probably would try it on) are now completely different things to what they were in the past. Most of us used to like standing at matches but had to accept that things changed. Most of us have been to matches where conditions were far worse than they are now. If you want to blame anybody blame the nio claim no fee bloodsuckers because they have effectiveley changed things for good.

the club would not be at fault anyway

if they have cleared the carpark and pedestrian areas then the streets are not their responsibility.

    Legal responsibility for what?

Why don't people take responsibility for themselves any more? If the match is on and I choose to go then that's my decision and the consequences are down to me.

I know it's icy, so if I turn out in it and fall down it's my fault. Why do people have trouble with that these days?
