is moved to a Monday night like it used to be in the good old days.

I used to like a Monday night trip to Burslem Park.

Why was it always on a Monday night anyway?

surely some of the anoraks know why we always used to go there on a Monday?

and why did we kick off at 3.15pm (later than everyone else) on a Saturday back in the day?

Don't recall playing on Monday's at Port Vale - unless we had a run of getting them on a bank holiday.

As to the 3:15 kick offs. Think that was down to when pubs shut at 3pm and blokes working on a Saturday morning so then wanting a few beers before the match.

The club also announced a new sponsorship deal with ABC Minolta, whilst the Football League announced that midweek games would be played on Monday nights instead of Tuesday nights. Thats what it says here anyway although it doesn't explain why. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1987–88_Port_Vale_F.C._season

We do get a mention further down the Wiki page though:

More injuries came as Chris Banks had his nose broken after a reserve match at Barnsley when he was attacked by a gang of youths whilst waiting at a fish and chip shop

I remember a game down there when Ian Wardle got injured by, I think Beckford? and Stevie Cooper had to go in goal, Beckford tried going in on Cooper and nearly got chinned!
