Kay, bad mistake, gets a deflection into the path of striker one nil. Togwell fires in a shot, gets a deflection straight into the keepers hand. That's how the luck goes when you're down there.

Don't think the second was a free kick in the first place. Colgon got a strong hand on it and really should have saved it.

Agreed,

Two average teams who more or less cancelled each other out.

Final ball from either side was piss poor.

I agree - Cardiff were at best average, considering that they had an extra three days to prepare for the game. We gifted them the goals and had better possession for long periods of the second half, but just could not make the breakthrough.

It never ceases to amaze me

how people watch the same game and come up with so widely differing opinions.

Thought we were OK and a bit unlucky to lose 2-0 though cardiff probably edged the game.

Defensive mistakes cost us again

Why didn't Kay head it out for a throw? Why did he pull back Chopra when there was cover?

First half we were crap. Vast improvement in the second and if Richards had scored th header from 2 yards or if Devanney had scorred the rebound from Richards' shot then things could have been different.

All in all I thought 2-0 flatered them a bit but I would say on the whole they were the better team and probably deserved to win.

On the plus side, I though I thought second half especialy that McCann played well, and Rajzci showed a bit of class when he came on (the other lad wasn't on long enough unfortunately). The cross from Rajzci to Richards was superb.

At the end of the day, losing to Cardiff away won't send us down vecuase there aren't many that will win there. Colchester and Hull at home coming up are big games because we need 3 points from them.

Player ratings:
Colgan: Did OK, perhaps could have done better with the Chopra free kick - 6
Hassell: Not his best game but not his worst either - 6
Reid: Best performance I've seen from him in a while and probably edged my MOM - 8
Kay: Rubbish 1st half, better 2nd but 2 stupid mistakes - 3
Eckersley: Did OK. Nothing special and got done a few times by Paul Parry - 6
Devanney: Biggest threat from midfield. Had a real go at their full back - 7
Togwell: I thought he had a poor game and it seemed to pass him by - 5
McCann: Looked pretty good 2nd half and kept the ball well - 7
Howard: Played OK and tried to create things. Better 2ndhalf - 6
Richards: Worked hard, should have scored with the header from 2 yards and guilty of shooting when others were better placed at times. Overall OK - 7
Nardiello: Shocking 1st half. Vast improvement in the 2nd and showed his ability with a nice turn and shot. Can't see him playing the next game though - 4

Subs:
Rajzci: Some good touches and looked more of a threat than Nardiello. Great cross for Richards. Very promising - 7
K. Reid: Came on for 10 minutes and did nothing but Cardiff werekilling the game off by then - 4
Ferenzci: Came on with K. Reid and didn't do much but same applies as above - 4

I hope these Hungarian lads can do a lot for themselves coz we dont look like creating much for them.

No bother I am trying to be positive in my critique.

At the moment I just dont see how McCann is bringing anything to the team.

Give Mattis a go at least , and if cant cut it get him and McCann out the door.

We need some pace and creation from somewhere.

How was McCann better than Togwell?

McCann is a slower and not as good version of McPhail.

He gets caught in possession 75% of the time.

McCann's slower than me. Watching a match on TV brought home how lacking in pace we are as a side and how we are so tentative when the opposition has posession.
