I do think a centre half was needed before yet another midfielder

    To be fair

So far this year we've relied on Togwell and Howard - with playing 2 attacking widemen that's put massive responsibility on Togwell especially as he's the more defensive of the 2.

We may see a change in formation now, with 4 more 'defensive' midfielders employed at times. Or Togwell gets a well deserved rest.

The only thing I can see is that the club saw the midfield as the 'weak link'.

Look at it now, Togwell RB, Hassell CB. McCann LB (poss). Throw Wallwork into CM, Reid onto LW and Macca upfront of free role... Looks a totally different team.

    Like your thinking

although I think we'll start with Knight and Hayes up front. Devaneys another that needs a rest/refocus.

    RE: agree

We never had the option away from home to sit back and defend... Now we have that. We don't have to play attacking football all the time, we have the potential to hit teams on the break and from these three signings we now have that option of controlling the middle of the park, and freeing Macca and Devaney on the break.

Some of the Cheltenham lads want Devaney back on loan as a replacement

And some wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

Sounds like a normal daily convo on here....

    They rate McCann mind you....
