There, i've said it. Not heard too many interviews from him, but every single one i've heard I've actually quite liked. He comes across very honest, and tbh I can't really argue with anything he's said so far. One thing I will say though tactically is this: If we cannot attract an experienced central attacking midfielder to the club, then I suggest giving Lovre a try. We cannot persist with 2 defensive midfielders whilst at home, but more link-up play is needed between midfield and attack. I think Lovre could fit the bill, but I'd certainly give it a shot anyway. The booing though from the fans makes me quite ashamed to be a Barnsley fan though at times, and that is something I thought I'd never say. This is after 3, yes THREE, league games. Give the lads a bloody chance FFS!!
Me too. Even the one I heard last night was very enjoyable. I really hope things change and he turns our fortunes around becuase I reckon he could end up being a very good manager for us.
I dont dislike him at all - i think hes great to listen to but its soooooo frustrating the way he is setting our team up!
How does he come across as honest when he has done a complete 180 on the things he's said since he came here? They can't both be true when they are polar opposites
100% agree. Like you say, league cup aside, its only been 3 games! Im sure he will change things tactically as im sure he knows he got both tactics wrong in our home games. Lovre should get a proper chance, from what i saw last season, he's got good vision and awareness and can pick out a decent pass. His weaknesses however, are his strength and quickness, but he deserves a chance.
I agree, we're only 3 games into the season give the guy a break! he's talking sense and you can't can't knock him for that it's unrealistic to think we can compete financially with the likes of boro and southampton because we only get gates of 10,000 at home.........simples
Freedom to air your views is what its all about on here or should be, not calling people moaners or Happy clappers because they disagree with their opinion. There is very little of the grey bit in between the 2 extremes and thats disappointing and makes for readers and not posters.
Yes I do as well...........but......... ..........he does rabbit on a bit dunt he Its all reight rabbiting on when yer winning (like Cloughie used to).........but when yer losing, it meks thi look like a chuff
ST can you quote directly the two extremes that you refer to please? I'm not having a go, it's just that I haven't seen / heard every interview with him so cannot pass comment on your point. All I can comment on is the material from which I've heard.
Just one quick video. Watch it then think back to what he said this week. http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,,12606_7080758,00.html
I`ll just say Googs that a man that has so much to say and likes the limelight (nothing wrong in that) has also got to have a good memory of what he has said previously. On the football front his team has come up very short, but its only 3 games and he has time on his side to rectify the situation.
Are you both meaning what he said about it simply being 11 v 11, not about money - and then saying that there is a vast gulf in the amount of money that we have compared to others in the league so we cant expect to compete with them?
in the video clip he says that we will be able to compete, no matter how much the other team costs, because it is not the cost of the players that matter. He says that he is up for a challenge, he never says that because we have no money we should not expect to stay in this division.
Re: Just one quick video. Watch it then think back to what he said this week. well researched but ther'll be others like this to haunt him if he doesn't do ok soon, but thats if and definitely not now after 3 lge games.
Re: Just one quick video. Watch it then think back to what he said this week. No research needed he only said 2 weeks ago. Very short in the memory stakes it seems , is our Keith.
Re: Just one quick video. Watch it then think back to what he said this week. i'm getting that problem too n i'm only on minimum wage.
Re: Just one quick video. Watch it then think back to what he said this week. Like when he said Barnsley wasnt the right club for him - then joined you a week later virtually denying he'd ever said it. He shouldve stuck with his 1st instinct methinks. You are an understanding lot on here are'nt you! During his 5 years in charge at Dale we went on various bad runs - in our promotion season when we shouldve been going for the title we managed to somehow win 1 of our last 9 games. Last season going for the play offs with around 7 games to go we lost 4 on the spin - 3 at home and blew it. These things happen. Lighten up and give the guy a chance - he's a brilliant manager if you'd give him a chance. And I wouldnt get too down about the cup loss either - he's never been too interested in the cups meaning us going out to forest green, luton and fc utd of manchester in the past 3 seasons. He's always maintained the league is priority. Last season after 3 games we had 2 points. We finished 9th! Give him a chance.
Re: Just one quick video. Watch it then think back to what he said this week. WE'VE PLAYED TWO ALMOST CERTAIN premier sides at home this week who also beat better teams than us convincingly.the negativity about hillcroft wasn't the factor for the majority of the small band of booers it was the effort of some of the players.
