There is no one at the club currently, who is as good as Brian Howard.

We're missing him, no doubt about it, and £500,000 (?) for a player such as him, is absurd.

We need someone like him in the middle of the park, but I sure as hell can't see us getting anyone for a similar price.

    Cack.

I agree, we have no attacking flair down the middle to set up our 'brilliant' Strikers.

Yeah, he's gone. And he's sorely missed.

How anyone can think that our midfield is adequate without him, and that £500,000 for a talent such as him is ok, is sadly deluded.

He's not missed. He was unsellting the squad with his big ego.

Hopefully we will sign Hoolahan. He's a better player in my opinion. Can play out wide and in the middle.

Its odd that he was unsettling the team - who ever came out and made this claim? Just people on this forum - no where else!

    Hoolahan..

Is he not getting played at Norwich? Because if he is why would he come to us? I would love him at the 'Well but can't see it, saw in the Media that Leeds were after him for a rumoured price of £300,000.

He is missed mate. He is!

How the hell can you say that? That's ridiculous.

He scored 14 goals from midfield, and got god knows how many assists, so how can you say he's NOT missed?

    Weird.

He was not very good. Especially the 2nd half of last season (with a couple of games excepted) and the start of this season before he left.
He was also a crap captain.

    RE: Hoolahan..

And although we are a league above the mighty Leeds we must still concede they still have a bigger pulling power than ourselves.

That's bull mate. You know it is.

He was a great player for this league, otherwise he wouldn't be playing for Sheffield United at the moment. He wouldn't have scored 14 goals from midfield and he wouldn't have been a fans favourite for around 95% of the Oakwell faithful.

Your response, I feel is negative because of the rumours surrounding Howards move, and the fact that he left for the Blades. That is all.

No one on here, can honestly say that Howard was a bad player and that he wasn't influential to us. Because he was, and right now, there is no one at the club capable of filling that void he's left. No one.

Hoolahan would be a decent player to have in the side, but I still don't think he would be as good as an inform Howard, by a distance.

    £500,000 for Howard. Laughable.

    what we need.

Needs Someone to take charge on the pitch and score a few goals ,BIG personality that can lift the team .A never say die attitude.A ball greedy centr forward who just trys to put them in .
But today was impressed by Jacob Butterfield . Needs to be in the team from the start ,take him off if he gets tired and put one of the regulars on.

I agree that Howard was a good player. He just got too egotistical, especially after the Liverpool game. I dont want a player who thinks they are bigger than the club.
My brother is a Blunt and he is hardly setting the place alight. Was on the bench today.

Butterfield played well when he came on. Offered more going forward than El Haimour, who did ok...

    ...Defensively.
