All people were going on about last season was giving the kids a chance. There were lots of posts along the lines of 'I wouldn't mind if we went down playing the kids, at least they'd care, get them on' and 'I hope we do go down, then the kids will get a chance'. Well here we are, we've gone down, it's their chance at last, and yet people are wanting us to sign new people instead of playing them. This is the best chance the kids will ever get at breaking through to the first team, and people are wanting us to sign other players and push them back down the pole again. Sure, we need to sign a couple of players to supplement the team, but I'd love to see us compete with the local young ones and see how we get on. It might be hopeless, but at least we'll have given it a go.

Quite right. Some will come good and some will not make the step up and be moved on. Until they are given a chance we won't know.

Mr Wilson has gien 3 "Kids" their first Pro contract just recently

and add to that the ones we have who were signed as such last season and got a sniff of the first team too, then I would say that Danny is indeed looking at what you hint at. But he has to be careful as to how he "bloods" them.. It could make or break them. He is in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. I hope we get a good amount of skilled players via our youth set up, it would save us a lot of money too.

Also if I can add to what you've said jamdrop it's not even the end of May yet and there's a few on here getting into a tizzy about it.

How do we know we haven't offered deals to players but just chose not to publicise it and they are mulling over the terms?

Apart from one or two players renewing contracts in May last season, most were signed mid to end of June.

    Fretting or nowt really.

Look around on the board, there's plenty of evidence. Have you seen Nightmare's rants yet?
