nailed on pen. Addison had another nightmare Get shut No dont have anything against people from Derby before you all start slating me
Was it any different from when Foster got ragged about in their box, but being a man stayed on his feet?!
And personally I don't know how anyone could think that it was a penalty. The guy literally threw himself to the ground in a manner that could not phsically happen as a result of the 'contact.' The ref didn't even look at it, until the linesman put his flag against his chest. The problem is, that as long as officials are capable of buying such theatrics, it only encourages players to do it. And before anyone says it, yes I WOULD be annoyed if one of our players won a penalty in the same way. I'm sure the football league show will prove that my eyesight is buggered and I'm talking out of my rear, but that's what I saw at the ground.
addison got hold of him, clear cut penalty...hill has just been on radio dee dar and said it wernt a penalty,i havnt seen a replay, but from the ponty it was a penalty.
if you grab hold of a player in the box and he goes down, chance are a penalty will be given,we see it week in week out throughout the league and thats what addison did today.
If they going to give penalties for that, there should be 10 a game The ball was not going to either of them and it was just one of the usual off the ball tussles that you get at every single corner or free-kick. Like I say - there's a penalty situation at every single corner or free kick - just watch McNulty when he defends a corner.
Re: If they going to give penalties for that, there should be 10 a game if that wqhat mcnulty does then if a pen is given we should no complaints But i cant see ihave ever seen him do somat as stupid as addison did today a blatant push
Re: If they going to give penalties for that, there should be 10 a game Yeah but it was off the ball, it was going nowhere near either of them - very rarely are they given. If you sit in the Ponty End, watch the centre-halves (from either team but McNulty in particular) as a corner is being taken. Shirt pulling, blocking, I've even seen players with their arms round Foster's neck and a penalty is never given. It's like ice hockey. Fair enough if they want to stamp it out then give a penalty but it has to be consistent all the game which it never is.
Re: i suspect that a lot of people like me just didnt see it. I was totally mystified. Having said that, I suspect that there must have been something. I did see Foster get manhandled in the area, and was pretty miffed that it didn't get a penalty.
Re: i suspect definitely a pen,and utterly stupid from Addison considering they were nowhere near the ball.
Re: i suspect For the people still left in the ground, the ref waved away what looked like a clear pen in the 92nd min, I thought the pen was a joke, Millwall kid throws himself to the ground.
Re: i suspect The Millwall lad should have been booked for the ridiculous, embarrassing and completely over the top reaction to minimal contact. He went down like he'd been shot. Fecking tart.
Re: i suspect That WAS a penno I agree, not sure the one given was and if it was then the challenge on Foster in the 2nd half where he stayed on his feet deffo was. As someone else said, it's consistency that's required.
I thought it was minimal contact from a hand on his shoulder, their lad threw his legs from under him and spun himself around, very theatrical, very soft. Not a single Millwall player was asking for a penalty from what I remember.
There were clear fouls much nearer to lino during game which he chose to ignore Agree it was a delayed reaction by Lino game was carrying on ref gave all the remaining fouls in game. No penalty claims by other players or management we were never going to get any important decisions today. Their goalie should have been booked for persistent timewasting.
Agree. Not been on here since the game so don't know what was said but it was spot on, I called it before the linesman flagged, Addison just dragged him over, may have looked softer from a different angle to mine but as soon as it happened I said to my mate "penalty" and then the linesman flagged. As it was a bit off the ball I'm guessing that the majority of folk in the Ponty booing just didn't see the incident. As to the 2nd goal, we were in line and definitely he was onside and our 2 defenders just let him run in. A day of dreadful defending mistakes, can't blame the ref or linesman, we contributed big style to our defeat, what the hell we were playing at on the 3rd I don't know, they couldn't have played there forward in any better than we did!
