But I'm getting more and more excited, inspired and optimistic by the potential this current squad has under this manager. I'm not suggesting for one minute that we'll run away with the league this season, and no doubt we will have a multitude of downs to punctuate the ups over the coming season but we have a manager that is not only giving oportunities to several of our home grown youngsters but has assembled a core of young players from around the country who once confidence and experience grows (I believe) will be a match for anyone in this division during the second half of the season and beyond. Wilson knows we still need to strenghten in a couple of areas and clearly has some budget and great inclination to do so in the coming weeks. Patience and support is needed for the first few months of this new adventure so hang in there lads, no matter how hard it gets at times over the next few weeks and months. The future is brighter than it has been for a long time. My optimism is not a gut reaction to a postivie result yesterday, but down to the fact that I can see the first few formative pieces of a jigsaw falling in to place. Coventry will be tough. Very tough. If we play well we'll get something. If we don't we won't. But it won't be the end of the world, merely a stuttering start on a long road. UTR.
I felt this way before, during and after the opening day defeat to Crawley. You could see the signs of us trying to play, fans need to be patient.
1000 percent agree mike what we need is a season of patience from the fans to let danny build for the future
i've had my hopes smashed too many times over recent seasons. i'm gonna see how things pan out for a bit. hope you're right, we need some positivity back round the place
Makes a difference to have someone with a proven record too. I think thats why Cryne and co are giving him funds. Lets not get carried away though as its still a tough league. I'm very optimistic this year
