    warner hardly inspired me with confidence

    at coventry, didnt control the area, looked very shakey, yes i know he had only just arrived at the club but surely catching crosses etc should be second nature to a keeper, irrespective of the defence 9who were also appauling that day)

    felt better with him than steele

    steele's handling worries me greatly, its one thing not come for a cross because you know you might not get it (colgan) its another to just not be able to hold onto the ball. Im not slagging the lad off he hasnt played regualr in a long time and i have only seen him twice just have doubts

    Fully agree with you mate. I posted something similar the other day. I personally feel that Warner is a better keeper from what I have seen overall. Although I would love for Steele to prove me wrong.

    Warner vs Steele

    Warner = Conceded 8 in 3

    Steele = Conceded 2 in 3

    Steele is 23.

    Warner is 31?

    Steele is a better shot stopper and from what I've seen, a better goalie on crosses. He dosn't flap.

    The only mistake I saw him make was that fierce shot from Rowlands on Tuesday. And his kicking was pretty poor, but the wind wouldn't have helped that.

    Steele for me.

    Why though?

    Warner,s not a young pup is he? He never got a look in @ Liverpool in 9 years (David James who was ***** and Brad Friedel who was just as ***** kept him out).
    Then when Bluebird warned us about how ***** he was when they had him on loan.
    He's *****!

    Steele for me too. Have seen Warner drop many a clanger in the games he has managed to play over his career, and he looked less than convincing in the game at Coventry. Steele has looked good so far, the other night was difficult to judge as the wind was playing havoc with the game. He did very well just to get something behind that shot that he spilled. It was being blown all over. Think SD has made the right choice. Would like to think we might be able to keep him to really challenge Muller.

    Steele As Shown More Promise Than Warner Did

    I couldn't see Warner only letting in one at Anfield. Steele kept a clean sheet the other night in bad conditions. Plenty of promise and still young enough to learn more.

    Steele Was Way Busier Than Camp

    Can't complain with a keeper who's only let in two goals in four games.

    I still agree. Another clean sheet but he just doesn't look confident at all to me. Not sure when to come for the ball or leave it. Nowhere near as commanding as Warner. But young and still learning. Would rather have kept Warner for the league and Steele for the cup personally.

    So if Steele had another blinder V Chelsea you'd drop him for the next league game if we still had Warner? 2 clean sheets in a week and MOTM V Liverpool but still you'd play Warner even after Coventry

    He claimed everything today. Except one in the 2nd half that he dropped, but he could have been fouled, and he made up for it by diving on the ball a few seconds later. He even did a Mulleresque punch out in the first half. He had a decent game.
