Has anyone had the problems we are having with I follow. We live in Portugal and for the last 2 years had an hd player subscription, then along comes I follow and 'blocked' transmission about 3 weeks ago. So we have to now re-register with our address here and also pay with a Portuguese credit card, fair enough, but when at the website trying to edit address and card details for some reason it will not permit this. After numerous emails to them because their chat facilities are poor, we are still without a new subscription and missing match after match. Any advice apart from come home? On a more positive note, we are quite pleased with the start to the season ( the wife is also a reds fan)
In the past when I've had issues I've emailed them and they've usually responded fairly quickly, but mostly that was in the Barnsley Player days. I got a bit annoyed recently. I was a fully paid up member of Player, and as such I could get commentary anywhere in the world. I assumed that would continue with the iFollow service, only to find that I can't get commentary in Germany (where I live part of the time) unless I paid an additional substantial fee. I tried to argue that I'd already paid for it and they couldn't retrospectively change the terms and conditions, but they argued that the new service included live video of games and as such could not be provided for the same fee. Since the Forest match was going on as we argued (via email) I gave in and paid up, with an English credit card, and I eventually got the commentary. I cannot believe that a service that is intended for overseas customers cannot handle credit cards from the countries where the customers live. It sounds bonkers to me. I know this is not much help, but good luck in getting it sorted.
Thanks for your input but when I tried to pay with my English credit card, they wouldn't accept it, telling us it had to be registered in the jurisdiction we live. I don't mind paying the 130 euros but it is proving so frustrating to sort out
This is typical of comments in the last few weeks. It seems like everyone gets what no one wants (to paraphrase AWP when they were painting the site hut). I hate to join the band of the disenchanted but the service has definitely taken a downward spiral this season, for all kinds of reasons. I know that Andy comes on here explaining that it is out of the club's hands but somebody, somewhere needs to get hold of this and improve things before the club ends up with no subscribers at all. There's no point in having a service that only works some of the time, and doesn't deliver what it promises. It needs to be a lot more intuitive as well. I'm a patient guy - I don't mind jumping through the odd hoop to get what I am looking for, provided I eventually find it. Some, however, will give up at the first obstacle and say enough is enough. Is that what the club really wants? I doubt it very much. I bet there are fans all over the football league saying exactly the same thing as well.
You're exactly spot on with the assumption many will give up but we are going to try Stahirost's suggestion and try our English card. All the while we are missing games, it appears the efl have sufficient money and don't need our 130 euros. If they don't respond to emails what do you do?
I missed the Forest, Sheffield United and Sunderland matches because of a two week holiday in Poland. I wrongly assumed that I would be able to watch live streams of the matches while over there. I thought that was part of the "new deal". After all, who wouldn't want to look after subscribers either temporarily or permanently overseas. But no - it seems that it wasn't possible for me to watch the live games. I did manage to see highlights though, so I suppose I should be grateful for that
