To get participants in the 'Praise or Grumble' phone in. They are a little embarrassed at so many Washday fans ringing up to praise their one and only win but have to keep them coming on because there are very few other fans ringing up. I don't hear many Reds supporters since we 'fell out' with them.
"I don't hear many Reds supporters" I havent heard any at all - then again if I am not listening I am not likely to
It's bound to make a difference eventually.
The fans initially lose out - but we get over it eventually and find other ways of getting news and match updates. On saturday I had Sky news on and kept an eye on this board, which is what a lot of people seemed to be doing as it got well loaded up and looked like it was close to crashing. I never considered putting radio Sheffield on for updates. I don't want to listen to non-stop Sheffield items and other South Yorkshire stuff.
I would imagine that a lot more people feel the same, and those who don't read the BBS and probably aren't aware of the current problems, will find the drop in coverage a deterrent to future tune ins. The ensuing result I would imagine is bound to lessen the appeal of RS to Barnsley fans and will undoubtedly create a hole in the overall inter team banter that is so much a part of matchday.
Eventually, I would reckon that RS itself will lose out where listenability is concerned, but who cares? I know I don't anymore. I now do not listen in to its sports coverage and surprisingly I don't miss it.

I must admit I used to listen in Even when they only had progress reports on our matches. But since the fall out I keep in touch with away games on this board and Gillette special.
