    9 Yuan per £1. The guide book said it'd be 15 Yuan so everything's going to be nearly twice as expensive as I thought!!

    yeah, but it's still ridiculously cheap there..........

    .....you'll find it very hard to spend up - I was there for 2 weeks at xmas and me and the missus struggled to get through a grand between us, in Shanghai and Hainan, and Hainan is about three times the price for food and drink than on the mainland.
