It's shaped like a match ticket, with 'Winner Group D v Runner-up Group C' printed on it. Got lucky in the office ballot for Spain-Italy tonight - get in!!!!!!!

Sorry to make you look a tit, but we don't pay for the tickets. As an accredited broadcaster, we are given a number of observer seats for each game. So there.

Stadium is five minutes walk, or one tube stop from the Broadcast Centre. I had time for a cuppa before I left!!

    RE: nice one!

Hi Susie - yeah, even the miserable Italians livened up for that!! Spanish never stopped jumpin' abart all game. Sooooo pleased they did it - Italy were an utter disgrace; played for pens right from the off and the gamesmanship should earn them a ban or summat. Appalling. When that lad got 'injured' and crawled back on so that the Spanish would have to stop their break, I'd have shown him a red card. Complete joke - thank **** they're out.

yes it was. The bbc spends licence payers money to pay for a package, part of that package (according to you) gets x amount of match tickets, tickets that you won in an office ballot

    Why the negativity?

Someone, well not just someone, a fellow Barnsley fan, happens to get a ticket for one of the quarter finals and all you can do is try and put a cloud over it.

We all know the BBC wastes money, but giving out free football tickets to employees............seriously?

Maybe, just maybe, you could try and be happy for them? Just a suggestion like.

not happy for him or unhappy for him really, he's seen that many 'big' matches through his job that i'd imagine its not quite as special anymore (just an observation) but that doesnt alter the fact that the very fact the bbc are wasting our money giving away tickets to its staff whilst producing some of the worst programming on tv

You have far, far too much time on your hands

I tell you what, let's imagine for a second the BBC didn't give out any of their free tickets to staff, in fact didn't get any free tickets full stop! That would then give them a massive amount of zero pounds extra to spend on improving their broadcasting service, as of course, the BBC get these tickets for free.

Too cynical for your own good mate
