I have never liked the guy at all, but I have always thought that Barnsley would be safe , but I am so fecking depressed tonight.
I take no delight at all in people now saying that they are in agreement about his capabilities, I was hoping that it would be me having to come on here and eat Humble pie, because Simon Davey turned out to be a tactical genius, but it looks like that aint going to happen.
What do they actually do in training? cos it aint working on team play and football.
You can have as many white boards and dossiers and videos as you want, but if you cant motivate YOUR players then its time to **** off.

its time we got rid ...not sure if its needed now or end of season but even if we survive (i think we will just!) he has to go.

He has improved the squad no doubt but he cant manage them...fact!

I wonder if he needs new batteries in his Wii Remote. That might be why he was unable to control them in the way everyone expects him to.

There's plenty of reasons why we lost today, the tactics of the manager not even on the list. What more can he do than send them out playing 4-4-2, a weakened side missing THREE first teamers (not counting Hume). A bloody good opposition goalkeeper; a disgraceful referee who missed an obvious penalty; a freak goal out of nothing and last but not least professional footballers who fail to step up to the mark too often are the reasons we got nothing out of this game. When players get out on to the pitch they make their own decisions within their own capabilities. Its about time the buck stopped at them.

That was a strange 4-4-2 mate

JCR anywhere he wanted.

But back to the manager tho`, if he cannot ensure that HIS PLAYERS are up for the fight and get them motivated, then its time to go. It no point blaming the wind or anything else. I agree about the players being responsible for their actions, but they are HIS signings and if they cant perform for him ,then it tells me they have had enough too.

I really hope that Simon Davey keeps Barnsley in this division, but even so its time to say goodbye at the seasons end.

A freak goal?? To be fair i thought it was a good goal and well taken. The fact it is Simon daveys squad and hes not motivating them had nothing to do with it then? As far as im concerned the book stops with the manager and he has to go.

JCR stayed out on the wing to start with - switching wings a couple of times with Hammill - wasn't seeing much of the ball and then came inside looking for it.

Freak goal my Arse

It was a very good goal and a great finish.

In truth if thir Strikers had been a bit sharper they could have had a couple before then - glaring miss in the first half after Kozzie let one over his head and a couple of good chances squandered in the second before the goal was scored.

Also its easy to say the players should be motivated - but if they are being asked to play in a way they dont believe in it doesnt half make it hard.

It looked very spectacular and was very well executed. But with the wind as disruptive as it was, he was lucky that the ball dropped nicely for him to volley it like that. He also had no idea of, or control over, what the wind would do to it afterwards. Certainly completely out of the blue and not something you can defend against. That's what I meant by it being a freak goal.

I guess even you are now losing faith in Simple Simon then.

Do professional footballers really need to be motivated? If they do its a bloody rum do. I need motivation every monday morning to do my **** job. They shouldn't. Stop making pathetic excuses for them.

I dont know

Worried certainly but I wont be surprised if we get a win no one expects - we have been poor against the bottom sides

Davey has had this knack of getting a result when he needs it - who expected 6 points at Watford and Preston last year

Im now praying for 4th bottom - Cryne cant really stick with him if that happens can he?

I agree with that

When I play any game of football, whether a competitive game or a relative kickabout I feel a lot better if I've won at the end.

I hate losing.

Surely men who've put so much effort into becoming professional footballers must be ultra competitive and hate losing as well?

Surely they'd prefer to be cheered off and hailed as heroes rather than booed off?

Hmmm.
