The player at Ipswich giving the 'handcuffs' sign was immediately fined by the club and the FA have called for a full report. Although it was disgraceful for the family of the lads killed it was not violent. I may be wrong, but, I have seen no response from the FA or Sheffield United on any action they will take, even though the evidence is overwhelming.
"The referee has handled the situation" would probably be the FA line. The yellow card is seen as being the end of the matter. I don't know if Barnsley or Keith Hackett (as head of the referees) can instigate any further action. I have no doubt they have seen the replays and are considering what to do. As for Sheffield Utd, if they suspend Morgan they are admitting what he did was wrong. I know it was, you know it was, and I've no doubt Sheff Utd know it was. But legally, they can't do anything to admit it. Its frustrating, but that's the way it is.
I'm sure pressure from other areas prompted the FA to take further action against Ben Thatcher last season.
Yet they have been quick to announce their concerns about managers giving officials abuse,
w@nkers.
