To bring in the players required , both in terms of quality and quantity . He has restored pride , passion and belief to our club for the first time since God knows when . We have been promoted to a higher league where the opposition will obviously be of a far higher quality . However , the majority of our players are young and can improve their game still further . The last time we won promotion from the third tier ( was it really 25 years ago ???? ) , the team had a slow centre forward with a poor goals per game ratio , who obviously wouldn't be able to cut the mustard in Division 2 . All the supporters wanted a more mobile striker who could finish ( Kevin Drinkell from Grimsby Town was the preferred candidate ) . However , the following season , that particular striker became one of the best exponents of the art of the target man in the country . A man who I wouldn't have swapped for any other in league football . A true Barnsley legend .
    Step forward Trevor Aylott .
The so called knowledgeable fans ( and I include myself in that ) were wrong in 1981 . Let's not repeat the mistake in 2006 .
