Wigan way back in August!! They're a fair old foe are Bolton and an apt opponent for Danny's first home game back.. They ran away with the league in 97, but they couldn't get the better of us and we were well unlucky not to beat them home and away. A lot of water under the bridge since then for both clubs. I can still see Redfearn ghosting in on Bergson's blind side to volley home at the kop end. Best player in the league that season, by a mile. And the ball rattling into our net off Arjan's knee and the look on his face. Disconsolate!!
Wasn't the away game at Bolton the one where the jlwb song started? Can still remember the kwik save on the away end that obscured the view of the corner flag
can,t wait for today ,having breaky .bit of shopping then town for a few beers and off to the home of the red gods ......UTR
I think some expectation management is needed Danny has only had a few days and still the same players as got us to the bottom of the league just the 2 new signings of Hassel and Nyatanga. Also just think on to your expectations in August. I'd rather go with low expectations and be pleasantly surprised than go expecting us to play like we did 15 years ago and be disappointed I'm going hoping for a win rather than expecting one and I don't think we will be playing the football that Danny will want us to play once he has had some time with the players and transfer market.
