I think same tbh . I don’t think we’ll lose many to end of season just hope we don’t get dragged into a series of draws .
It's not so much we don't look like losing. You'll eventually come up against somebody better on the day. It's how we're playing limits the chance of that eventuality.
I love how organised and disciplined this team is. We've acknowledged the lovely football we played under Stendel and Struber but were basically soft as **** when we came us against the big teams. Big Val has taken us to the next level, don't care whether it's Stoke City/Preston or Brentford we will give anyone a game now. So proud of them all.
A real potential banana skin on Saturday. Having said that, it would be typical of us to keep winning and then lose at home to one of the worst Wednesday sides in years.
QPR coudl have bee 2 up before we scored - we will have lapses but win more than we lose. If we can stop giving away silly free kicks in dangeous areas and stop thumping ball straight back to them from keeper and bonkers passes when nobody on we'll take some beating.
I thought we could have made life easier tonight by retaining possession more. QPR were sheet and giving them the ball made them look better. There are times where just kicking it away gives us more to do. That said I think Val is intelligent and thinks as I do. Playing keep ball invites it's own pressures.
I think some teams will watch the first half today and see a way of beating us. QPR didn't fall into the same trap as Blackburn and completely change the way they played. They backed their defenders to play the ball forward and got some decent balls in behind. Could've gone either way up to Mowatt's goal, after which we were in control. Ismael will probably be going through the two chances they had at 0-0, and conceding another goal from a set piece.
I don't think Val will be bothered now we have the points on the board. Birmingham under Karanka play it out from the back and that will help us.
At some point another team will have worked out how to beat us-and will do so. QPR should have been 2-0 up early on and we were a bit lucky they weren't. It's fantastic what is happening now but we have to realise that not long back we were just below mid table and hadn't won for 5 games. The law of averages says we can't win every game and at some time the opposition through balls against our high line will pay dividends, remember how easily Adam Armstrong scored against us for Blackburn? I am not being negative here, just managing my own expectations! I hope the forum shows the same level of support and positivity after we get beaten, though on current performance levels we should win more than we lose and whether that's good enough to get into the playoffs remains to be seen.
It shows how far we’ve come when I’ll be disappointed if we don’t make the playoffs, at the start of the season I prayed for mid table mediocrity
If we win our game in hand and maintain current form against the lower teams it will be results against Bournemouth, Reading and Norwich which decide if we go up automatic or not. Maybe I'm too excited.
