.............we have the most exciting season ahead for many a year........new Chairman, new Cheif Executive, brilliant manager in his first full season...........................and yet we still have numbties on here that want to hole the boat below the water line before it has even been launched

    Its fooking unbelievable............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People in football have been singing the praises of Flicker only a few weeks ago.........but yet we have our own so called supportsd on here that cannot see further than their nose end

The sooner Hassell goes the better...........because the support for him undermined Keeef..........and it looks like this sort of thing is happening again with Steele
Are some guys so un-nerved with any sort of change that they cannot even accept change to players in the team that they watch......because its ffoooking baffling to me all these attacks on Flicker

Those foookers that are moaning about Flicker need to make a choice...............you support Hassell and Steele..........or you support the managers judgement..........end of, full stop, period !!!

Who is attacking Flicker? All I have read is people disagreeing with him over the Steele situation and his logic surrounding the contract offer. Most posts have stated their opinion but also stated that they still fully support Flicker. And believe me Hill got himself sacked, he didn't need help from anybody else.

Entitled to your opinion Nudge, but you're missing the point here. No one is attacking flicker and no one is withdrawing support. But there comes a point where you can't defend the indefensible. I don't even think the consensus have a huge issue with the decision. Every single manager makes tough decisions that fans disagree with. That's not really the point. It's the explanation for the decision which people are questioning. The interview in Friday's Chron came across very poorly. The explanation offered was disrespectful. Not just to Luke, but also to the fans - who are being asked to accept that a 28 yr old keeper is too old for a 2 yr deal, when Tom Kennedy, an outfield player less than a year younger and reliant on pace, gets one.

We will all move on to the next news story eventually, but Flicker has ****** this one up. Take it on the chin

The only thing that undermined "Keeef" was the fact that he was useless ******. Nowt to do with Hassell.

' The interview in Friday's Chron came across very poorly.'

To be fair that's a key point. It's quotes taken from an interview, with no context, chosen by an editor to sell newspapers.

I'm not saying it might have been a poor interview but without hearing it word for word I would give him the benefit of the doubt

perhaps ark, but we can only go on what's been quoted and take it at face value. i'd be surprised if the chron were misquoting him though - not if they want any more interviews.

Not having a go nudge but this is a forum for people to discuss all things related to B.F.C. and personally I think flicker has made himself look foolish on the Steele matter. Don't get me wrong, I think flicker is one hell of a top bloke and a great manager but he's made a mistake on this so he's going to be criticised on here for it. Most outfield players are looking to retire around the age of 34ish but goalkeepers carry on till late 30s. Steele could quite easily have a good 10 years left, so for me flicker has lied to the people who indirectly pay his wages

Good point mate, but I suppose you don't have to misquote someone to put a particular slant on what's said. Either way he's learning and hopefully it will make him a better manager.

I think a lot of people are missing the point, of course this is only my opinion but the way I see it is Flitcroft doesn't rate Steele relative to what he earns. Not having him on the "retained list" would have angered most of the fans, the solution is to give him a one year deal perhaps on the same or even less money - if he accepts, great, if he doesn't, he tried but it's not the end of the world. Similar story with Bobby.

I disagree, most on here are annoyed at the fact that flitcroft hasn't been honest. It would have been better to say nothing than to make something up.

that's not what flicker has said though. if he'd come out and said that, fair enough. but he hasn't. he's used age, which at 28yr old for a keeper, is absolute nonsense. for the record i'm still 100% behind flicker....well, maybe 99.9% recurring :)

an o'grady deal next week would sugar the pill

I'm sure Flicker is regretting using his age as an excuse, a bit of an insult to our intelligence really.

I read it more like he knew Steele would want to move on in the not too distant future, and that therefore at his age there was no chance of him committing to us for more than one season. Even so as has been said it would have been daft to have offered him nothing. It's a subtle thing but I don't think he's saying 28 is too old in the simplistic way it's coming across on here.

No-one is attacking Flitcroft, we are just voicing an opinion. He was the first to praise the value of Luke and Bobby, Fozzie too - when they were getting results for him. He also bigged up the teams worth and their deserving of respect from everyone.

There are tough decisions and there are correct ones. He'll be on holiday or wherever this weekend knowing well he's dropped a bollack.

............your headline.............'Practice watch you preach, Flitcroft!!'............was probably the most embarrassing post I've seen on here in the last 5 years

Lets just hope that no one from the club saw it

A guy against all the odds works his ballacks off to keep Barnsley in the Championship and he is rewarded by posts like that

    Its un...foooking...beleivable !!!!

And what about the players? I'm completely sold on Flicker's mantras, but I expect him to stand by them too. I'm not given to outbursts but if it embarrasses anyone, that's tough. And unlike a lot on here, I'd happily discuss that with the man face to face.
