They must not, under any circumstances, be forced to take a pay cut. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36020447
The players dont gave the ******** to hold their hands up say yeah our fault. How much do you need to keep betty and doris in a job.
Gabriel Agbonlahor deserves his £55,000-a-week. He's easily worth 7000 piddling little ticket-office employees. Stand with him at this difficult time, please. #jesuisgabby
Bugger the players, they earn enough and have underperformed.. What about the regular staff who keep the club running? On 20k with mortgages and families? Unless there was a large lump of irony to the original post, which I missed. edit --- Doh! Slow brain at work...
The real reason they are in bottom spot is because Mable in the canteen hasn't being squeezing the tea bag hard enough and Dorothy has been leaving streaks on the dressing room floor when mopping. ...sack em....sack em all !!!
Not sellin' enough Half-Time-Draw Tickets. That's the real issue that needs addressing. What chance of a Transfer Bid for the guy in the Ponte Car Park this summer?
I'm just glad that everybody can see that the players are not to blame for any of this and should quite rightly continue getting their £80k per week. The plebs in the admin office and the canteen are getting exactly what they deserve now. I hope they enjoy life on the dole the b'stards.
Would be a nice touch as well if the staff donated their redundancy money to the players, it might give them a good start in the championship.
I'd say it's the very least that they should do. Some of the players may have to suffer on reduced term contracts and have to try and make ends meet on £40k per week rather than the £80k they're on now. If the no-marks being made redundant have any conscience then they will be offering their redundancy payment, their first six months dole money and they'll offer to work for free.
I don't even understand how that is even possible. I mean if you take into account everyone from the box - office staff, marketing, merchandising, ground staff etc. Their yearly salaries combined must be less than what say Gabriel Agbonlohor's earns in a month. From every perspective it makes more sense to let him leave at the end of his contract than to start letting go people who work at the club, as one, it saves more money, and 2, 1 player is more dispensible than the vast number who will need to be made redundant to even have he slightest effect on a cost cutting exercise. It just doesn't make sense. Which is making me question whether it's even true or not. Sent from my I-Oven using the internets
It's definitely true; it was announce by AVFC yesterday. Getting rid of your average worker is a lot easier and costs less than getting rid of the spineless millionaires who got you into the mess. In reality there isn't going to be a long queue to sign any of the Villa players and I'm guessing many of them will be on long contracts.
