I was wondering when the retained list was going to be published and realised that we still have another game to play

I think mentally I have moved on from the 2013/14 season and keep forgetting that its still in play - for most teams anyway

This Saturday will be the first time I will ever have seen us play whilst already relegated - so a strange experience

Didn't you see us lose to Manchester United in 1998, or Wimbledon in 2002, mate?

We beat Wimbledon didn't we? I seem to recall that was the game where all their fans turned their back on the game in protest against the move, so we kept shouting "ooh" and "aah" to make them turn round to see what they were missing!

No Wasnt at either game I didnt get to as many games in the 1990's as other decades due to living down south and having no money so wasnt dragging myself up for dead games even Man Utd - I didnt have a ST that season anyway so I doubt I would have got in - I'd probably have gone to the Wimbledon game if it had meant something but didnt bother in the end.
The only other relegation was the one in 1972 but for that we were relegated on the last game losing away at Port Vale. A draw would have kept us up - I was only 9 at the time so wasnt going to away games then

I can remember asking my Mother if I could have the day off school to cope with my grief after the Port Vale game. I was shocked when she said no!:D

I remember more going to the first game of the following season and being really sad to see the 4th division printed on Program and I am sure it was on a sign outside the ground as well - I dont remember the game but looked it up and saw we beat Cambridge 3-1 no memory of the match though

That was the only away win we had all season if I remember correctly.
