But do you genuinely think there was a lack of effort Saturday? I've watched it back on sky+, once in full and then again skipping to bits, I don't see anyone shirking as such - I see defenders out of position and out of their depth (if that is true for most championship games it was hardly a shock city exposed it), I see massively superior technical ability in midfield areas making it difficult to get near to the ball, I see a city side at full throttle beating us five nil - they beat Leeds by four in first gear. I am disappointed - ish. Not let down. The team earned it's place in the quarter final, the draw wasn't kind to us, and we were well beaten by a vastly superior team. Forget money and reputation. They were just a lot better. Flush it out of the system, its proper game time tomorrow. Weather permitting I guess.
Great post. Must win tomorrow. If we learn anything from Sunday it is that we should be striving to play in Stadiums like that every week and not in League One. I think that to stay up we really must get 4 points from the next 2 home games. Huge effort needed from both players and fans.
I don't think they were at full throttle. But agree these next two games are more important. I hope we've got summat left.
the most dissapointing thing for me was the way we gave the ball away 2 easily on the rare occasions we had it, only when mellis came on did anyone look to actually put there foot on the ball and try something, having said that i firmly believe that we could have played 50 times better and still been knocked 5, city never got out of 1st gear and also had so much more to offer, as for tuesday it could quite easily be the game that decides our season 1 way or the other
