...but we're not even in June. The players who have allegedly rejected contracts have just been involved in the worst performance in the Championship. Are we really that arsed if they leave? I'm not. Let's let 'em get on with it shall we? The alleged fee for O'Grady is still just that and I imagine we'll also be looking to ship off Steele & Cranie too and probably for very little. The issue here is the communications coming from the club - if we are skint and we can't afford them on their current wages, absolutely fine. But just let us know. But in terms of players rejecting contracts - f.ck 'em.
agree with almost all of that but they will not tell us for sure the state of finances. Suppose we are skint and they announced it, and said we would only be getting freebie/loan players. What effect would that have on ST sales. Also how many players would come to a broke club....would they get paid , and on time.
No, it's not our business 'to know' about wages and the cost of players. That is confidential between the player and the club i.e. between employer and employee.
I'm not getting twitchy at all, don't expect much to happen until late June at least. There is always a load of transfer ****** spouted this time of year. If I have a concern it,s about building a new team from scratch. The 'gelling' period may be too long and even painful. Much better if we had players around such as Steele and JOB.
