I know I joke a lot on here but

Shep is doing a cracking job of running our club, get that our club. How many of us thought we would have a club at all a few years ago so the fact that a football club has a chairman who runs the club like a business to me is a good thing.

I know it's frustrating not to see hoards of players coming in but they have to come in on the right deals for the club. We have to work to a budget as does any business (my own included)so I applaud GS and PC for holding the purse strings tight and I have faith that players who do come and they will come will come for the right reasons and at the right money.

The players that have signed one year deals I think have done the club a massive favour. I know they are hoping bigger clubs will come in when they play on a bigger stage but from our point of view that will only happen if they play to their top ability every week.

Any player who cant cut it we can ditch after the year, so we either get a load of players playing out of their skins trying to impress or we only hold the turkeys for a short time.....good deal all round.

I have faith in AR to pick up players good enough to keep us up, and lets be honest every one of us will be more than happy with fourth bottom in season one. I also believe that AR is bandying names about but the real targets have yet to be announced.

Do we want an untried goalscorer who struggled to hit the net last term, or would we prefer someone like Boyd who can score and would love the chance to step up...I hope you see where my thinking is with this. Mcphail and Chops were probably never even remote possibilities to sign but there are many more who will be out of contract in a few days who will be.

Keep the faith folks, we all know it will be a long hard season and yes we may get the odd thumping or two but think back to the prem days. We'd get hammered then bounce back and the championship only looks hard on paper, till we get on the park and play none of us knows how we will cope at that level.
