I don't like SD as manager, I dont think he will keep us up and I dont think the players like him either.

Can anyone tell me yesterday how many times the sunderland goalie had to make a save....nil

How many shots we had on target...nil....Peters mishit shot the only one and that went wide.

How many times during the season and in particular just lately we seem to let a player run across the front of the box from the right and take a shot that ends up in a goal....loads

When will Sd see how crap Hecky is and what a liability he is....opposition managers can see it.

Why are we playing negative lets try not to lose football instead of lets have a go and try to win football.

I think we have the players to do it but we dont have the manager.

Stands back and waits for abuse.

I'm still impartial about the appointment of SD but the comment about him picking heckingbottom got me thinking, didn't Ritchie stick with Heckingbottom at left back? So we'd still more than likely have him there if AR was still in control.

Personally I dont think either of them are good managers but I think davey is more likely to keep us up.

I don't think we have the players mate. On paper we must have one of the worst 3 squads in the division. I think of all the players we've signed this season only Ferenzci has improved the team significantly (McIndoe did for a short spell and Wallwork did for 2 games).

The last 2 games we've returned to the defensive frailty which cost us earlier in the season BUT we've lost 2 & 3 games on the bounce before with Davey and then won 2 so it's not ALL doom & gloom yet.

Problem as I see it is that we are playing dull frightend football, good sign for me is that in all of the weeks he has been in charge not once has SD had any fans chant his name which speaks volumes.

Ferenzci is a cracking player and I think he will stay even if we go down...b ig fish and small pond comes to mind.

Peter will also be a great signing when he gets some service.

Hecky should be dropped permanantly and howard should move back into the centre.

I cant see too many points coming our way but I stand to be corrected.

maybe i know nowt about footy and u are supposed to do this but

WHY do our defenders constantly show attackers and wingers the path on the defenders right and thru on goal and/or invite a cross or a shot?????????? Its driving me nuts. Sureley we should be preventing this and puching them out wide AND stopping a cross or a shot. Its costing us dearly!

It's not Gung Ho stuff Richie style anymore but the results have improved under Davey even though a lot of the football is dire.

Richie played 3 attacking midfielders who all got forward and we created loads but the strikers we had then weren't good enough to snap up the chances and the defenders weren't good enough to stop up the other end.

It would have been interesting so see us play like that with Ferenzci up front though!

    Ah Colgan's fault again!

We'll soon find a way to blame him for us not scoring as well!

Well, if he rolled the ball out to his defenders once in a while instead of just hoofing it up the pitch...

    Is that ok? :)

    RE: Ah Colgan's fault again!

We lost to a team yesterday that had 2 excellent centre backs , ran at us down both wings where we do not have the pace to deal with this.We are worse on the left yes.
However Heckingbottom has no cover in front of him and this makes his lack of pace worse. He always gives his all and was better yesterday than he has been for a while .Maybe play Eckersley in front of him as we discussed on the train back to London .

Having watched the goals again on Sky, Colgan was badly positioned and knew he had messed up judging by his reaction .

He does not command his area, never comes out for crosses and I think has lost confidence.

The defence appear to also have lost confidence in him . Near the end we had a couple of throw ins . Most teams would have thrown it to the goalie for him to belt it up the field. We didn't .why ?

A spell out will do Colgan no harm and do wonders for my stress levels.

We did not provide service to the front men and Keane has got Sunderland defending like a unit a la Man Utd do , with their strikers immediately closing down defenders as soon as they lose the ball .

Howard is best when he has a free role in the middle .

If we had Walwork back as captain, he could patrol midfield and Howard could fill the hole behind the front two .

Yes we should have had a penalty , however this is all what " might have been " .Results did not go our way yesterday.

Lets hope we get something out of the Plymouth game and win at Coventry , to restart our season . We can all but dream .

    Freya.
