I'd have expected COG to step up for a pen before Luke Steele and Golbourne .

Me too. I said to our kid tonight that a keeper should be way down the order and certainly well below a striker.

Not that unusual for keepers to take penalties, Joe Hart does.

Rogerio Ceni had 112 career goals as a keeper from that and free kicks.

Well, he did the job, but it makes you wonder why he didn't step up initially.

You'd have thought most strikers would be itching for it.

I know whenever I played, I always wanted to take one.

Sometimes its considered better for a keeper to take a penalty as they are less tired.

Much harder to take a penalty after 120 mins of footy. Maybe COG just didn't feel up to it.

There seemed to be a bit of a duel going on between Steele and the Scunny keeper, a few acidic verbals and gesticulations exchanged, and I think that's why they both took a penalty each.

And it looked like Steele had no say in it either. He didn't look like he had any idea he was supposed to take one till all the players on the half way line were all waving like 'you take'
