Mark Robins first 10 games yeilded more points and the football was entertaining.

Or are you trying to compare whats not like for like? The end of Robins to the start of Hill.

    Nope.

And i was a massive Robins fan. I would have loved to have seen him given this season and abit of funds behind him. Obviously thats what he wanted too and when it became apparent that that wasn't going to happen he decided he couldnt take the club forward. Fair enough - Can't blame him really.

Thats why i think the job Hill has done so far is incredible. Very little funds - Meaning lower league signings and 'cheaper' loan siginings - Yet playing a much more attractive style of football that is alot more pleasant on the eye and still getting results. We arent top of the league and must remember there is along way to go, but im enjoying it. Much more than last season. Long may it continue.

Hats off to Mr Hill i say......

    Was it?

I just recall Shackell lumping it to Goran Lovre to flick on to Gray who would try and flick it on to noone.

Neither Shackell nor Louvre were at the club.

I`m talking Robins first 10 games as Barnsley manager you must be referring to first 10 games of last season.

On like for like Robins comes out on top.

My last reply was to Dyson not to yourself. If you compare the football now , to Robins first ten games as manager, then Robins gained more points and the games were equally as entertaining on the whole and fans of BFC were happy bunnies. Trouble was Robins in the long run couldn`t keep up the standard of entertainment despite getting enough points for comfortable safety. Now Hill is providing the entertaiment and the points are steadily racking up and long may it continue, but the fact is all that was Robins wasn`t boring.

Mark Robins MAY prove to be a good manager, however, I dont see him getting the chance.
Wheras, Keith Hill has already proved he is a good manager (Rochdale).
I did like Mark. But I didnt like the ever-changing dressing-room, where instead of coaching and improving our own players, he preferred to get yet another loan in. He was in managerial terms, lazy. Hence walking out.

Its better this season than its been for YEARS !!!

It just makes me wonder what would happen if Hill had a bit of money to spend to bring a quality striker in on loan

As far as I'm concerned everything is looking great..........except when we get near the opponents goal

There were a couple of high points under Robins, Leeds and Forest at home spring to mind but aside from these I don't remember too much more than bland boring football under Robins. Hill has got us playing the best football in years and for the first time in years I can't wait to go to games. Early days but if this continues it's good times ahead. No I would not have Robins back.

Robins first 10 games as manager we got 16 pts including 3 away wins at Derby Doni and Peterbro plus an excellent 3-1 win at home over high flying West Brom playing some very good football along the way. During this period we also beat Burnley 3-2 in the League Cup another very entertaining game.

Trouble is people have selective memories and now Robins is no longer associated with the club it seems quite easy just to remember the boring displays in the second half of the seasons and rubbish anything else he did achieve.

So after 10 games of Robins no one would have changed him for any other manager (except SM) because everything in the garden was rosey.

Now we have Hill not quite as many points, yet after 2 terrible home performances we are beginning to see some excellent football and the points are starting to rack up so everything in the garden is rosey. Lets hope he can keep providing the entertainment and we are not here in 18 months time saying would you have Keith Hill back.

Hills producing results on a much restricted budget

Robins was not sacked he did well initially but away form was poor last season and Hill is achieving better performances from players who were bought by Robins. Mark Robins needed 1 more season at Barnsley to prove his ability to manage at championship level.
