Just been sent a link to the wording of the actual bill that went before Parliament back in June 2015, as to whether we should have the EU referendum. Interesting reading.... "This Bill requires a referendum to be held on the question of the UK's continued membership of the European Union (EU) before the end of 2017. It does not contain any requirement for the UK Government to implement the results of the referendum, nor set a time limit by which a vote to leave the EU should be implemented. Instead, this is a type of referendum known as pre-legislative or consultative, which enables the electorate to voice an opinion, which then influences the Government in its policy decisions....... ........The UK does not have constitutional provisions which would require the results of a referendum to be implemented." I tried adding something of my own here. A few times, in a few different ways, but don't need to really. The EU referendum result has never been legally binding. Ever. Just a gauge of public mood at that moment in time.
Brexit means brexit , when a big lad sits on a plastic chair and it collapses he brexit , its simple we voted so fat lads can smash plastic chairs legally, that's what I voted for anyway. It's alright for these Judges and MPs who sit on big wooden chairs and leather backed wooden benches but we have to sit on plastic chairs at footie and when we nip out for a ciggie at club ,then when they brek we get done for criminal damage and banned from the Ponte. We voted for brexit means brexit so it's legal now .
It would be political suicide for anyone who actively tries to prevent it from happening though. The result was a clear one, and the signs are we'll come out of it much better than remain campaigners said we would during Project Fear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So clear that had it been 52-48 the other way, Farrage would have been demanding a re-run. He said so before the referendum.
He might have been upset for a few weeks after but it would have all been forgotten about within a couple of months, there would just be pressure from the government to force the EU to reform, which ironically might only be possible now we've made the decision to leave, as others will surely be looking to follow. It feels more and more like the Soviet Union, it's just that they sent in the tanks when a member wasn't playing ball, the EU instead makes clever use of propaganda, the media is happy to serve it to us as the journalists and editors will fear becoming outcasts if they don't stick to the narative.
