and say "here we go - out come the whingers 'cos we've lost", but its starting to look worrying for me now. When we were showing early season promise the reality is that most, if not all of the players being singled out as the class acts in the side were loan players - in effect the team playing well was not our team. Now they have all gone back we are again looking like a side who will struggle to stay up. I trust Davey - I think he has done a cracking job on what be one of the most limited budgets in the division, and I hope to God he pulls some more rabbits out, in particular bringing back De Silva and Macken on a permanent basis. 20 minutes is too early to judge properly, but Leon certainly showed a little promise today. We can't get away from the fact that we have now gone 7 without a win. we have a strike pairing who have only scored 7 between them all season but we seem to need to score 3 to have any hope of winning, and based on recent performances I think that today's result has been on the cards for a while. We are only 7 points away from the drop zone, and those 16 points we need are starting to look like a big ask. Just think back to Burnley last year - couldn't win a raffle for months and ending up surviving by the skin of their teeth after being in the top 4 until late Autumn. It could all look different again by the end of January, depending on who comes in, but the importance to the future of this club of the next 19 days cannot be underestimated. If he gets it wrong then we are in big trouble. Time to prove your credentials all over agin Davey.
Some Pointers For Davey * Give Reid a chance. He can't be any worse than the ones we currently have in defence, that conceed at least two in every league game recently. * Play Kim. Why is he not getting even on the bench? No way is he worse than the two muppets we had up front today. * Sign some players full time. Loans are ok short term, but now they have gone back we are in the ****. Plus because they did well for us, these players who were overlooked before, have club managers who can ask for more for them, knowing we want them. * Don't say players are going to be missing, when it's obvious they won't be. The mind games aren't good.
Im not bothered about Davey's mind games etc. Whats more worrying is the amount of goals conceded. We started off the season looking fairly solid at the back but now we just seem a shambles. Lets give some credit to Norwich, and if they had taken there chances it could have been 5-1, Dion Dublin missing that sitter and they hit the post! I would hope we wont go and do a Burnley and mess it up big time but you never know! The next month or so is crucial. Also thought Howard was very poor today, it's quite obvious he and Mcann can't play together. We need Anderson back a.s.a.p.!!
