This is an extract from BBC 606 - So Box Office clearly can't be arsed to move people to sit with their friends and family. So please xplain point of 2 tickets per ST now...... I then asked to move my seat and have two together anywhere in the ground. THEY WOULDN'T DO THAT!!! So please don't expect to be able to have two seats together if you are a season ticket holder wanting to swap your seat. You have NO chance. PR - is a disgrace at Barnsley FC. They treat people like cattle, and don't care about putting people together. I hope you have enjoyed my story - I wish it was fiction, but it is TRUE. I have two tickets on different rows, 9 seats apart, maybe I'll be able to flog the 2nd ticket, cos my wife doesn't want to sit with strangers.
It really is time the club invested in a bit of technology. This situation is driven by the fact that the clubs I.T. system is out of the ARC. Why isn't my season ticket an intelligent credit card that I swipe through the turnstiles to automatically give me access. Why can't I go on line and charge up my season credit card with my F.A. cup ticket and the club take a direct debit from my account so that fans in London can get their tickets at the same time as dole bludgers and sick notes. And those of us at work don't have to take a day off. I don't relish knocking the club but they really havne't got a clue how to look after their customers!
RE: It really is time the club invested in a bit of technology. I don't think that their system would be unable to do this, from my experience of box office systems they can do pretty much what the venue needs them to do. I could be wrong of course, but I think that it would be possible given appropriate support and training from the system's manufacturer.
Season Tickets are about the only thing not on credit card size cards these days. Daft. You can get a loyalty card for just about everywhere except football.
RE: It really is time the club invested in a bit of technology. you don`t want to knock the club just its northern supporters.
Easy non IT solution. </p> Just punch a hole in particular page in your ST book. That's assumingthey should be allowing two tickets per ST which of course they shouldn't.</p>
ideas on ticket allocation and specific cost and details ,can be forwarded to the barnsley supporters trust, willing to look at ideas and information with the football club. Visit www.barnsleyfcsupporterstrust.org.uk
RE: It really is time the club invested in a bit of technology. Where did I knock anyone Northern. I think you'll find I only knock dole bludgers, sick notes and Union Men.
RE: It really is time the club invested in a bit of technology. I aint seen that category is it between Centenary Society and Colchester stubs? Union men do they still exist?
If they can utilise the system to free up your season ticket seat, then it would be fair enough to allow people to move in order to buy 2 together, that way the ST holder next to you would then be able to buy your usual seat.
easier non I.T. solution just have a man with a pile of tickets for each stand, get how many you want and you will be sat together because they will come off the roll in order, you just won't be able to pick your seat which st holders can't do today anyway.
Here's a puzzler. I've got Centenary so can get one seat - I'm wanting to take my 6yr old son who goes with me each match and pay on the gates (box office the day before) - We never got ST's basically because: a) I can't afford it. b) He's got football training on Tuesdays c) Can't do night matches - School in the morning. So, with a half season ticket being £35 (7 matches left, 2 are midweek) it'll work out £7 which ain't too bad. Trouble is, to get a him a kids season ticket it has to be attached to an adult season ticket - So I'm attaching it to his uncles who sits in the Ponti end (spaces next to him), A few days before every match, I'm going to have to go into the box office and have his ST seat transfered next to me for in the East Stand Lower (we prefer it there). As we're not planning on getting the season ticket until the weekend, the seat number he's going to go be getting will already have been put in the pot of 'spare up for grabs' for the Chelsea match. Surely when I go for 2 tickets for the Chelsea match next week (1 centenary, 1 ST), they can't refuse to have his ST voucher (seat) transfered to sit with me - His new ST seat will probably already have been sold.
Did you deliberately try to come up with the most complicated scenario? I didn't think juvenile season tickets had to be "attached" to an adult one except for the family stand.
I think they do, or at least the youngest category. So to get this right, he is going to get his son a half season ticket in the ponty but his seat may well already have been bought be someone else for the chelsea game. Dad as a centenary ticket holder wants to buy a ticket in the east stand (any seat) and wants to know if his son will be able to transfer his season ticket seat to the east stand for this one game to join his dad? I shouldn't see a problem with that but maybe a quick email to the club today could help?
ideas and technical knowledge to solve the ticketing problem The system for allocating tkts probably is anarchic but they are trying to address the problem in the future . through the supporters trust they are looking for ideas and technical knowledge on how to solve this problem ,which can be incorporated next season. possible ideas on how other football clubs solve this problem and if you have knowledge on how it can be implemented , look for info on the web site http://www.barnsleyfcsupporterstrust.org.uk/Index.php or e-mail using the preformed reply form ,9you do not have to be a member of the supporters trust to reply -welcome all ideas from all Barnsley fans. this will be looked at by a joint committee of the football club and the supporters trust and every reply will be took into account. http://www.barnsleyfcsupporterstrust.org.uk/contact.php or by post ,You can contact the Supporters Trust at the match day office at Oakwell or by post at: Barnsley FC Supporters Trust c/o Barnsley FC Oakwell Stadium Grove Street, Barnsley South Yorkshire S71 1ET UK
Possible ideas on how other clubs do it Why don't the club contact other clubs and ask them? You'd think these things would be fairly standard and information shared between clubs….surely there are some generic systems that are easily tailored to suit the needs. Rather than asking fans to help them out - that's the sort of thing you expect the Lamproom Theatre to do, not a professional football club with over 10,000 regular customers
