but this week I have left.............unexcited.

I am totally bemused by todays game. The initial team selection left me feeling flat as did the performance in the first few minutes. Whilst the changes definitely improved the performance and the result was unexpected, I still can't help feeling its another false dawn. It wasn't working, so it had to be changed, but will we learn from it or start the next game in a similar vein. For me there were just as many bad bits to today's game as good bits and we are nowhere near yet. No doubt many will disagree but I cannot get excited just yet.

I thought it was a good vibrant game myself and we played well once Winnall came on. The score flattered us as Swindon could and should have scored a couple more.

We should have also had a couple more.

It started off horribly, but Winnall's introduction and Hourihane grabbing the game by the ******** changed the complexion and I'm only disappointed we didn't win by more than the three goals. Great performance, great result, great three points.

I'll save the rest for the (not a) podcast.

I don't for a minute think we're now promotion candidates, but I did enjoy the game a lot today. I'm not excited in believing this is a new dawn, just pleased I saw a good entertaining game of football. I have no doubt we'll be **** again a number of times this season, so I'm going to make the most of it when we play well.

totally agree Jay, there's a lot to be said for not delving too deeply into things and just accepting a good game and good result for what it is!

to the original poster, would you have taken any sort of win today whether it be a crappy 1-0 or an excellent 5-1 for example. Im prepared to accept the win and we did totally outplay them after all didnt we ? I cant see where the criticism is coming from tonight to be honest.

Yes, I would have taken any win as it is a points related business. I didn't realise I had made a criticism as I merely expressing my emotions. There were several on here expressing their elation, am I not allowed to express mine (or should I say lack of it)? We didn't totally outplay them either, had we done I might have felt better about the game. Difficult to extol the virtues of an opposition side where you have scored all 5 goals, but most of their team looked comfortable with the ball but I can't say that about our team yet. That's why I believe their is still a long way to go before we can rejoice.

I have seen us look comfortable on the ball at times this season, such as Bradford at home. The possession was like Swindon's. Across the back line with no real penetration. I'd always rather see us play like yesterday than be comfortable on the ball and have not as much of a threat
