I'm with you apart from the new name thing, not sure I'd be too happy if Beckham bought Barnsley and the first thing he did was look to rename us.

I've always thought Vincent Kompany came across very well in his media duties.

Sounds like a top bloke..........and just for comparison...........think about Luis Suarez?

    Puts things into perspective?

Yes mate, that's what I thought at first, but he's giving fans the choice and the opportunity to change the name. If they don't like the idea, I reckon they will say so.

I just had a look at them and saw they were founded in 1986 and have struggled since day one. I'm reading French wiki-page, but from what I can make out the name has no direct meaning to the area or city of Brussels and was more a ownership branding at the time.

It also looks like VK has closed down the club's website and left a very direct statement for the fans. It looks like he has taken something on the brink of extinction and is forging a localised philanthropic project very much aimed at the local kids. He also plans to change the club colours which happen to be exactly the same as Man U's!! Sky blue? :D

    Club Name

He's left it to the fans to choose, so they can vote for the current name if they want.

    Re: Club Name

The club is less than 30 years old. But that can still be classed as heritage, as it is all supporters have ever known. He is letting the fans have their say which is more than some get.
