I stopped reading after 'its never easy coming to oakwell'

Presumably the next line was 'or at least it wasn't until fancy graphs was given the managers job'

    I thought that.

He might as well have said "It's never easy coming to Barnsley, particularly as it's such a bleak, uninspiring bloody shithole".

It's a great example of an outwardly innocuous remark that actually has offensive undertones. I mean was the wind whistling through the stands more in Barnsley than elsewhere in northern England this weekend?

    RE: I thought that.

lots of players have said that Oakwell is one of the coldest, windiest stadiums around though including a few of our own in the past. Maybe we just don't notice it?

"wind whistling through the stands" - what on earth is he talking about. It was quite mild on Saturday, had a jacket on. In fact I was commenting to my mate that we were at end of March and on only 2 occasions this season have we taken refuge in the concourse at half time, rather than every game.
We did used to refer to the Ponty End as The Fridge though when we stood in there, as no matter how warm a day it was it was always cold in the Ponty.
