1 0 is a very respectable score considering and will have been a great experience for the young lads

By my reckoning, the average age of the team which finished the game was about 22 1/2 years.

So what? Many clubs in the lower leagues put fairly young sides out and an average age of 22-23 doesn't seem that unusual to me. It certainly doesn't excuse a very poor season so far, sitting 16th in League 1 and the lowest ranked team in South Yorkshire. Having a young squad doesn't automatically mean they'll develop into a much better side in years to come...

I agree 100%. Our league position is a source of embarrassment. We really should be higher up than that with the budget we have. We have one or two promising youngsters but no one in all honesty to get too carried away about. The January window is crucial to our chances of climbing the league and showing some real progress. We also need Winnall back asap.

I disagree in part. It was a fact at the start of this season we had the youngest squad in the league. Today must have been the youngest we've fielded but also the most inexperienced. In terms of 1st team appearances I'd like to know the average of that. I'd be suprised if it was more than 80-90 per player on average. I agree the age thing doesn't mean they'll develop, to go along with that I don't think signing lower league journeymen who are late 20's early 30's who can't or won't improve isn't necessarily a decent alternative either. Much of the experience these young lads have is at a lower level in many cases, that's if they've any at all.
I for one am willing to persevere watching their hopeful development as both a team and individuals. Not for a second we'll develop 11 John Stones, but if we get an Eaden, a Liddell, a couple of Moses and a Watson ill be a happy chappy.

What's required is a mix of youth and experience. Notts County took Gary Jones when he left Bradford and not doing a bad job. Play off contenders...

Glad you agree. They poxed a win at Oakwell due to daft mistakes still let's not let the truth get in the way of slagging the team off.

Do you genuinely believe that Notts County deserved to best us? If so you were probably sitting at home moaning (again)
