putting an indian lady (with a lot of grace) against a set of scrubbers and jaded z list celebs and then cranking up the race card to the hilt.
Don't get me wrong, theres nothing wrong in black people winning it, but i don't think it would ever have happened in this country under normal conditions.

I think there's some truth in the suggestion that Channel 4 have manipulated the race issue. I don't think they've done it to advance the cause of black / Asian people though - I think they've done it to get bums on seat in front of the telly watching a programme that is starting to lose its appeal. One of the blokes who sits on the board at Channel 4 has been practically w*nking over the controversy 'cos even he has admitted the programme would have been as dull as dishwater without it!
Oh lol, you don't say!! Reading the papers, Against my judgement, because no matter which newspaper you pick up, all have a focus on the dreaded 'Big Brother'
not thought of it that way but you are probably right race does seem to be main topic of controversy these days

RE: i think it was fixed jermaine was obviousy the biggest favourite. they were booing shilpa for god's sake.
RE: i think it was fixed You think it was fixed? no **** sherlock. They even wangled it so a non celebrity won it last year. Cant see how you can watch it myself.
Exactly Rothred said that a black person wouldn't have won it, but Jermaine probably would have, and he's black. But booing at the set doesn't give an indication of the publics views. Neither does the voting for that matter but just making the point.
i think it was a def fix...no way would she have won it. I aint watched it loads but can def say the public would have not voted for shilpa poppadom to win
