but I do know when somebody ios pissing up my back.
    Daveys post match comments
He said: "Of course we are disappointed to lose the game but again we had chances although we did not take them. We hit the bar and struck the post.

"Preston are a good side and have been at the top of the division for the last few years so we knew it would always be tough. I could not have asked for more from them.

"Our lads worked their socks off again and we have to make sure we bounce back".

Davey's excuses are akin to Comical Ali's

They worked their socks off today ???At what point ????
He also claimed that Wolves scored their goals on January 1st on breakaways , despite them having 72% of the play !!!
When we play crap , be honest and admit it Mr Davey .

Yes he is, and given time when you short sighted buggers can see beyond the end of your nose Davey will produce a team which is capable of staying in this division. Unlike AR who's team was doomed for the drop from day one.

You seem to think that AR would have saved this club when aftre he claim we had over achieved and then did nothing to strengthen it.

O, and before I forget McIndoe would still have left even if Saint Andy was still at the club.

RE: But this new guy's better than AR

err... short sighted, you need some new specs if you can't see what is going on the pitch. What evidence is there that Davey will produce a team capable of staying in this division ? Also why was AR doomed from the start ? We had a team which even when it went behind didn't know it was beaten, now we seem to have a side that at 0-0 knows it's going to lose. Team spirit completely knackered !!!

Ever considered that AR may have asked for quality signings and got knocked back ?

Also yes I appreciate that McIndoe would have gone irrespective of the manager, but I suppose that the clause in his contract was also AR's fault.

    Given time? Given time?

We haven't got any fkn time.

Are you saying we'll have a wonderful April, after we're mathematically down, when he'll show us what might have been?

    Get real.

The board has made its intentions as clear as crystal - you buy third rate players, you get a third rate team.

That's what's lined up for us next season - third rate football in the third division.

    So in a nutshell

You feel that had Mr Davey been appointed in the summer we would not be in this mess?

I really can't agree with that at all.

However, I really do feel that Gordon should have fired AR a lot sooner if he genuinely believed that things were going so badly wrong during the summer. The squad has been "run down" over the last 12 months or so really, it's not a recent phenomenon - so Gordon ought to have been aware of the reasons behind this.

    Jacob Burns anyone?

Who exactly has been running down the squad?

Jacob raked in about £40k plus his future wage to the funds but his leaving almost cost us promotion.

    "worked their socks off"?

Very "Paul Hart" just like his defensive interview technique and his total lack of personality.

Add that to the lack of passing football and goals and realise were up the proverbial creek.

I'm not sure we'll ever know

Most of the talk on here has been about what was / wasn't done in the summer, but there has been a problem for a lot longer than that.
