The final games are 12:45 kick-offs on May 4th so by modern standards they're due to finish by about 14:40. I'm heading down to Burgundy for the summer on that day on a 14:50 Eurotunnel crossing. They load you up quarter of an hour before departure so I've got a horrible feeling I'm going to be on the train or in the tunnel with no reception when the final whistles blow, waiting to emerge at the other end to find out whether we survived or not. Why did I have to choose that crossing date/time? I'm an idiot.

On the bright side, if we do go down then I'll be out of the country 10 minutes later.

    You just make certain

You have enough bottles of the grape to either celebrate, or drown your sorrows, my old, cosmopolitan mate.:D:D
    And safe journey.

Thanks. And don't worry about that, I went over to Sancerre for a bit of shopping last time I was there.

    Hic

I don't know if I mentioned it but I'm now offering a Wine Cellar Baby sitting service. Leave everything to me and no need to count your bottles, I'll sort that out.

Thanks Turvey, I'll bear it in mind. I'm going to get a sticker made up: "No wine left in this van overnight".

If it's any consolation there's a good chance we could be relegated a full week before you make that train journey. Blackburn play Millwall on Tuesday and Palace on Saturday. I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that they can pick up at least a point from those two games. Next Saturday both Wolves and Peterborough are at home to lower mid-table opposition. Should they both win their games and we lose at home to second place Hull then that's us relegated due to our inferior goal difference.

I don't mean to be unduly pessimistic, but it certainly wouldn't take any shock results for that scenario to happen.

I'm in a similar situation. I'm setting off on the Pennine Way on the morning of the 4th May from Kirk Yetholm in Scotland. By the time the match kicks off I will be up in the Cheviot Hills somewhere, more than likely with no mobile signal and 27 miles from the next habitation.

I wonder if the match will be on 5 live?
