ain't it time Ritchie put Richards on the bench and gave Nads or Wrighty at least an hour from the start of a game.
If Richards is such an effective and influential player he could come off the bench if things weren't going our way and win the game for us without breaking into a sweat.

Yeah good Idea Win 3-0 against one of the top teams then start changing the team. Not sure how that works. Still he might to surprise the opposition
I say Farnham..... Johnny is our board coach and he knows best.
You are site admin so keep to that.
I ride bikes and I am keeping to that.
Stevie smokes dope and generally keeps to that although he does stray to football every now and then.
Lets all stick to what we know ffs don't argue with the coach I mean why else would he call himself Johnnycoachmen unless he was any good??

He he I don't its vile mate...
More of a wine drinker like your good self!!!
It was just a piss take to our delinquent friend (i nearly wrote fiend which have been more appropriate)
I hope you didn't think I was being serious with the last post!!??

of course I did I always take everything you write with a very serious few grains of sodium chloride hence the reposte
RE: Yeah but...........................no IMHO Richards has been one of the weakest links in this team for 8 or 9 games.
I don't think it would hurt to give one of the other lads a start. A little adjustment wouldnt do any harm.
We have won one game in our last eight. That's not a winning team is it bud. Before todays game we were only the 22nd team on form, thats almost relegation form, so I can't personally see why you would object to changes which we have needed for weeks.
Richards has been given more time to prove himself than any striker I have seen in the last 40 years. I don't see why he has been given such a long run in the side as he has.
I think it has been so long since we have had a quality striker at the club that you have forgot what one looks like and you are prepared to accept the mediocre.

To be honest I would have started with Nardiello instead of Richards today if I had been picking the team, but its a bit hard to stick with someone and then drop them after a team performance like that. Of course we might concede more goals if Richards is replaced as he is good at taking the pressure off our defence for us and he has a much higher work rate than Nardi - Cant comment on Wright really
Glad to hear!! When are you Southerners getting up this neck next?
I've been meaning to say Farnham mate that you might be in need of a Trinny and Susanna on the avatar front. You've been wearing it for a while although I am fond of the 'ol Kylie' me sen!!

RE: Yeah but...........................no I think that Ritchie sees Hayes and Nads as the same type player as he does Richards and Wright.
If he dropped Richards, he would play Wright in his place. imo.

Im seriously considering the Bradford game Just not sure if I can make it yet.
Yeah I probably should freshen up the avatar - but I am rather fond of the old lass - I might have a look at other options after Easter though

The main point is.... Both Wright and Nardi have done nothing when they have come into the fray apart from Nardi's goal against Swansea (also a game where he was offside more than a Wigan Hooker).
Richards although not scoring has been quite influential in playing people in/holding it up and actually getting chances. I have said all week that one day we would give somebody a hammering once the chances were put away and today was it.
I think Richards is a worthwhile starter although has his deficiencies I admit.

RE: The main point is.... I agree Richards and Hayes would be my starting two in a 442.
but I would play 352 with Hayes in the hole. Nads and Richards up front
I think we could better our attack and although stretched, keep our defensive record.
But I'll leave it to the gaffa to decide.

The problem is..... We looked good when playing 3-5-2 against another side playing 3-5-2 but its easy for other sides to nullify (like we did to Oldham).
3-5-2 works when you have the right players for the job. Take Nicky Eaden for example who was a good fullback but a top notch Wing back. He could pass and more importantly cross and then track back. We don't have that at the club on both flanks.
When playing that system as well, which we used to in the campaigns leading to the prem, it worked well but then teams started to work us out and they'd play 3 up front which meant to fullbacks couldn't bomb on because it left 3 on 3 at the back.
In the days we played it all the sides in England played a solid 4-4-2 and we were one of the pioneers and other managers didn't know how to respond. Now they do.
We are better sticking with our tried and tested system. We have the best players in this league and hopefully we can carry some form into the last 4 games.
U REDDDDDDDDSS
