i thought England were pretty good last nite. i know they were only playin estonia but they actually seemed up for it. even had glimpses of owen at full throttle and as much as it pains me to say it beckham played as well as weve ever seen him. Lampard was the only week link again he will be the one t make way for hargreaves methinks
thought that myself last night while Hargreaves has been injured, no matter how poorly Lampard played there was no-one who was going to come in and really do a better job. now Hargreaves is back though, especially after his performance in the world cup, will have to come into the team and if McLaren continues to play 4 4 2 someone will have to make way, and as you said the only weak link is Lampard.
i dunno carrick could of done well if given the opportunity, scott parker is another who could of done it but i dont care how world class everyone says they are. gerrad and lampard wont ever get it together in the middle so one of them has to go. and its lampard everyday and twice on sundays. he was anonymous last nite and thats not good enough.
I have to agree mate I enjoyed the game, thought we did well, but also think Lampard is a waste of a place when Gerrard is playing. Fair do's play him if SG isn't in, but like you say there are many players that could have had his place and done a better job. Hargreaves, Carrick, Parker, Togwell. My personal choice though would have been Gattuso.
