For a business or for your home?

If business - then definitely Message Labs.

If home, then any really is good enough.

I used to use mailwasher, not bad but costs money, not a lot

I have norton 360, which does a decent job, so does my ISP (virgin, which takes out a lot as well

all my spam gets filtered straight into there. I agree it doesn't stop them entering my email system but it sends them straight to the spamfighter file. there they are deleted and only emails I want to see are read. Works for me until I find something better. (jadore)

is free for private users, and I agree is the best one.

Near 100% accurate, collecting around 700 emails a day on our work server.

Cannot think of an instance where it has incorrectly dumped real mail in the spam folder, and only a couple a day slip through into my inbox.

is your email address published on any website?

have you put it in posts on here?

If so there is your reason you get so much **** - your advertising your email.

Best thing would be to bin that email addy, get a new un and start a fresh - without advertising it if you have done.

The other reason is probably hate mail cos of that horrid avatar - god its ugly.

I don't recall putting it in posts on here so it must be to do with my avatar - time for a new one me thinks

    Get Mozilla Thunderbird.

It is to Firefox as Outlook Express is to Internet Explorer.

Has spam filtering built in. If one lands in your inbox, right click it and one of the menu options is Mark As Junk. It moves it to your junk folder and learns to spot spam. After a fortnight the SPAM filter had learned to spot pretty much everything. I've used it for 6 months now and it hasn't missed a trick spam-wise for the last 5
